Parking
Parking is available in several parking lots located throughout the Veterans Park area. The best location to park is the parking lot just Southeast of the Gift of Wings Kite Store which can be accessed from E Lagoon Dr in the park. There is one other parking lot that can be accessed from E Lagoon Dr located a bit further Northeast of the Gift of Wings Kite Store. Street parking is also available along E Lagoon Dr. The larger McKinley Marina parking lot is accessible from the intersection of E Lafayette Hill Road and Lincoln Memorial Drive. Packet Pick-up & Same Day Registration
Packet Pickup will be Saturday, April 20th from 11:00am to 3:00pm at Performance Running Outfitters: 4533 N Oakland Ave, Shorewood, WI 53211. Packet pickup will be available the morning of the race as well. Please arrive by 8:30 AM if you plan to pick up your packet race morning.
Race Start Time
The In-Person race begins at 9:00 AM on Sunday, April 28th 2024.
Virtual participants must complete their race between 6:00 AM on Saturday, April 20th and 9:00 AM on Sunday, April 28th.

Engineers Without Borders at UW-Milwaukee students will be on site to talk about the water projects in Guatemala that are funded by proceeds from the Run 4 Water MKE.
Event T-Shirt
All registrants will receive an event t-shirt but only those registered by March 30th will be guaranteed a shirt in their size!
Registrants after March 30th will receive a shirt, but quantities of each size are limited and the shirts will be given out on a first-come-first-served basis.
Shirts are unisex sizing with a cut that is similar to typical Men's t-shirts. No exchanges of shirts will be allowed for a different size so please choose carefully when ordering!

Restrooms

Race Course
The Run 4 Water MKE is run on a USATF certified 5K course around Veterans Park. More information can be found on the Event Map tab of this website and at https://certifiedroadraces.com/certificate/?type=l&id=WI16004DM
Timing
Race timing details will be shared once they become available. It's likely that a smartphone app will be required to be eligible for prizes.
Awards
Top three female and top three male finishers will receive recognition and a medal.
The largest team will get to keep the traveling trophy in their office for a year!

Refreshments
After race snacks include bagels, fruit, and canned water compliments of Canned Water 4 Kids.

The event will take place rain or shine, however if it is thunder-storming near the event we will have to delay the start time. The latest time we will postpone the start of the race is 10:15 AM. If thunderstorms get near when the race is happening, we will advise all participants to head to your vehicle or the nearest accessible shelter. It is up to your discretion if you'd like to continue running in the unsafe conditions. If the event gets delayed to a point where we cannot complete it that day, everyone will have their registration switched to the virtual run.

Dogs
We welcome your four-legged friend to join you for the Run 4 Water MKE! If bringing a dog, we will ask that you start the race at the back of the group of runners so the dog does not get tangled up with anyone or with other dogs. Dogs must remain on a leash at all time before, during, and after the race!
Children and Minors (under 18 years of age)
Anyone under the age of 18 is eligible to participate in the Run 4 Water MKE for free along with their parent or guardian who is registered for the event. Minors who do not register for the event will not receive a race shirt or race bib/timing chip. Minors wishing to receive a race shirt and/or have their race timed must register.
